My passion for the meat industry started with work experience in a local butchery and led to completing my apprenticeship in 1978. Eager to broaden my knowledge, I worked in all aspects of the meat industry from the freezing works to some of Auckland's top retail shops.
In 1994 I realised my goal of owning my own shop and opened Seaside Meats in Howick, Auckland. My aim has always been to provide top quality service and meat so we source only the best products and produce our own smallgoods including bacon, smoked chicken breasts and sausages.
Our top quality service and products has helped Seaside Gourmet Meats gain its current reputation as one of Auckland's top retail shops.

All our butchers are fully trained with trade qualifications.
We take pride in employing new apprentices, which ensures we continue to support the industry and infuse new skills and ideas.
We are also very proud of our staff achievements, with one employee consistently placing in the top three of the Auckland Young Butchers awards and in 2005 was a finalist in the New Zealand Young Butcher of the year.
Another employee received a Howick Courtesy and Service award.

Our range covers all traditional cuts of meat, through to rabbit, quail, pousson and duck - in fact, all game meats!
We take the time to prepare our small goods and gourmet cuts from the highest-quality beef, lamb, chicken and pork.
Due to increased customer awareness of where our food comes from, we stock New Zealand free-range chicken and pork.
We make a wide range of sausages from the traditional beef and country style pork favourites through to our award-winnning gourmet sized varieties
Our bacon is cured and smoked over an eight-day process to seal in the flavours
Our tasty silverside is corned on-site
