How to cook a perfect rump steak
Turn up the heat on your cooking skills with these tips and tricks to cook the perfect rump steak each time.|
1.Before cooking leave your steak at room temperature for 10 minutes.
2.Heat your griddle or frying pan over a high heat, until smoking hot.
3.Lightly brush the steak with a little olive oil and season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
4.When you turn your steak add a knob of butter.Ensure that you don't place more than two steaks at a time and keep them spaced well apart.
5.Don't turn the steaks until good seared markings are achieved, then turn and cook other side.
6.When cooked place on a warm plate and allow to rest between 3 and 5 minutes.
Times for cooking the perfect Rump steak
Blue:1 minute each side
Rare:1½ minutes each side
Medium rare:2 minutes each side
Medium:2¼ minutes each side
Medium-well done: 2½ – 3 minutes each side.
Delicious served on its own or with chips and a Bearnaise sauce or a peppercorn sauce.
